Manufacturing Engineer
Job Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Experience: 3-20 years of experience
Manufacturing Engineer
The position requires a long term assignment to China (12 24 month period) in support of technology transfer after initial training of approximately one year at company in Pittsburgh, PA. The duration is dependent upon experience. We will be providing expat benefits and the employee will have visits back state side during the assignment.
Duties Responsibilities:
Developing graphical work instructions and update to include improvements identified during production
Working with design and quality engineers to develop product designs which are adaptable to efficient manufacture and inspection
Providing training and support to shop personnel as required
Assisting in the evaluation, and training of suppliers
Effectively communicate technical concepts across all levels of company and customer organizations
Identifying new and/or improved processes for reducing rework, cycle-time, and costs for assigned projects
Interacting with company and customer project team members to efficiently provide rework instructions
Identifying, evaluating and resolving manufacturing problems at company and suppliers, in an accurate, timely and informed manner
Monitoring tooling and labor costs on assigned projects to ensure expenditures due not exceed allocations
Providing offsite support as necessary to suppliers and customers
Identifying and designing tooling and fixtures to enable safe and efficient manufacturing of parts/assemblies
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience

3+ years experience with Geometric Dimensioning Tolerancing (GDT)
3+ years experience in large part/assembly manufacturing experience with commercial nuclear utility or military projects a plus
3+ years experience using UGS Solid Edge, Visio, Oracle, and/or Solumina is a plus
Intermediate skill set in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point Project
Desirable Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
3+ years experience with Geometric Dimensioning Tolerencing (GDT)
Proven track record in setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and multi-tasking on multiple projects
3+ years experience in large part/assembly manufacturing experience with commercial nuclear utility or military projects a plus
3+ years experience using UGS Solid Edge, Visio, Oracle, and/or Solumina is a plus
Experience working with Chinese supplier/customer a plus
Strong communication skills attention to detail
Ability to be an innovative thinker and present theories/concepts in a professional manner
