Job Location: Livonia, MI

The Barton Group is recruiting an administrative / customer service assistant for a strong, family-oriented parts manufacturing company in Livonia, MI. The right candidate will be highly organized, have at least 3-5 years experience in administrative or applicable office roles, and have experience representing their company with customers including shipping. Hiring will be partly based on a skills test, and training will be provided on the job. The Customer Service Account Assistant will report to the Customer Service Manager.

This position is a six-month contract, after which the employee will be hired permanently with full benefits if they are a fit.

Job Duties:

  1. Maintain, monitor and update daily shipments to ensure accurate quantities.
  2. Assist in managing VMI reports for customer.
  3. Preparing invoices.
  4. Reconcile delivery reports.
  5. Maintain and order office supplies.
  6. Answer multi-line phone, direct calls, take messages with appropriate phone etiquette and greet guest at the door.
  7. Order entry and contract review.
  8. Create and maintain shipping schedules.
  9. Consult with shipping verify status of shipments.
  10. Schedule logistic pick-ups for shipments.
  11. Update and maintain shipping and purchase order logs.
  12. Assist in forecasting customer usages.
  13. Maintain and order office supplies.
  14. Fill, stock and order for vending machines in both plants.
  15. Assist with company luncheons, customer visits and vendor visits.
  16. Sort mail.
  17. Make coffee during the day.

Supervisory Responsibility: None
Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 10lbs.
Education and/or Experience:
  1. Minimum high school/GED required. Associates degree preferred but not required.
  2. Minimum 3-5 years of experience.
  3. Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  4. Previous experience as a liaison with external and internal customers including shipping.
Position Type/Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Currently hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00a-5:00p.
Travel: There is no travel with this position.
