Oracle Applications DBA

Job Location: Akron, OH

Experience: 3-5 years of experience

Oracle Applications DBA

Qualified candidates will provide project and day-to-day operational support for the Oracle Applications, Oracle Databases, and associated tools.

Responsibilities include:

Database and Oracle Applications administration, support, and maintenance.
Monitor and manage the environments on a daily basis to ensure availability and performance of the Applications and Databases.
Implement, install or upgrade Oracle Databases and Applications software.
Patch analysis, patch application and deployment.
Instance cloning and post-cloning activities.
Resolve incidents and problems, create SRs, and work with Oracle and the customer to quickly resolve the problem.
Assist in disaster recovery preparation, planning and testing.
Manage production, QA, test, and development environments.

Required Experience/Skills:

5+ years Oracle 11i Application DBA experience.
Understanding of the 11i architecture and various Application tier and Database tier components: underlying objects, schemas/products, database objects, file system structure, tables, views, packages, procedures, sequences, indexes, and constraints.
Experience with System Administrator responsibilities (configuring applications, concurrent managers, profile options, printers, value sets, concurrent programs, users, etc.).
Experience with cloning Test and Development environments from Production Oracle Applications environment.
Knowledge and experience with Oracle 9i and 10g databases.
Knowledge and experience with Oracle Application Server.
Unix/Linux experience including scripting.
Prior experience with database administration.
Prior experience with SQL.
Familiarity with Oracle Apps 11i and Oracle database 10g administration.
Oracle 11i to 12 upgrade knowledge is a plus.
Oracle 9i to 10g upgrade experience is a plus.
Experience in configuring/managing environments with failover/high availability requirements is a plus.
Oracle 9i/10g OCP certification is a plus.
Prior experience working in a company employing ITIL-based processes and procedures is a plus.
Ability to communicate effectively with remote customers.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar discipline + 5 or more years of experience with increasing responsibility in a dynamic environment. Masters degree a plus.
