Engineering Manager

Engineering Manager
Reports to: Vice President, Manufacturing
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Hire and train Manufacturing Engineering staff to support a 24x7 factory operation
2.Establish and direct Engineering Change policies and procedures.
3.Establish engineering control procedures to ensure that line operations run in a consistent and controlled manner
4.Work with Management and with Manufacturing Operations to set quality and output goals
5.Work with Manufacturing Operations to achieve quality and output objectives
6.Establish and manage a program of continuous improvement consistent with company business objectives
7.Work with RD to evaluate and aggressively implement new technology
8.Foster a well-trained and motivated staff.
9.Provide training as required to line personnel.
10.Conduct employee performance reviews.
11.Attend scheduled corporate training and meetings.
12.Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
1.Four-year degree in a technical field, (Electrical or Chemical Engineering preferred)
2.Ten years direct experience in manufacturing engineering with significant supervisory experience.
3.Experience with advanced statistics, statistical process control and design of experiments methods
4.Experience in Photovoltaics or other Semiconductor manufacturing is desirable
5.Advanced degree in engineering or operations management desirable
6.Experience with implementing or sustaining an Engineering Change program consistent with ISO-9001 or equivalent.
7.Experience with implementing or sustaining lean manufacturing practices is desirable.
