Sr. Tax Analyst

SUMMARY

We are seeking an individual whose main responsibilities will be to support the federal and state tax reporting functions within the Tax Department, including tax provision and compliance preparation. Our ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of public accounting and/or corporate tax experience.

SCOPE: Corporate and Operating Units

ESSENTIAL / NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Reviews the federal and state tax provisions for consolidated and separate company financial reporting requirements, including but not limited to permanent and temporary differences, tax attributes, tax basis balance sheet, and return to provision calculations
  • Analyze balances in tax provision software for gross temporary differences
  • Supports the preparation of income tax returns, extensions and ES payments
  • Prepares return to provision calculations and corresponding journal entry(s)
  • Supports timely responses to information requests to federal and state authorities
  • Performs tax research and analysis on numerous diverse tax issues
  • Must stay current with federal tax legislation
  • Ensure compliance with SOX controls review controls on an as needed basis
  • Performs purchase accounting analysis during M&A process
  • Adheres to internal standards, policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting required
  • 3+ years of experience in working with a corporate tax department and/or public accounting firm
  • Strong federal, state and local income tax experience
  • Working knowledge of international corporate tax issues
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP
  • Intellectual ability is an adept thinker with the ability to recognize, interpret and solve complex issues together with the drive to see solutions through to implementation/resolution
  • Able to review/prepare multiple tasks and be able to adapt quickly to changing business and strategic priorities
  • Collaborative and interactive in style and action
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Results-oriented with a strong work ethic

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Masters Degree in Taxation

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) eligible or certified is preferred

Computer Skills: Intermediate level required in Microsoft Suite
