Oracle Applications Developer
Position Summary:
The Developer - Oracle Applications will participate and lead their team to review, analyze, modify, encode, test, debug, and install Oracle 11i e-biz suite programming. The team is accountable for the ongoing maintenance and development/implementation of new modules, extensions, and customizations for the 11i and bolt-on applications.
Job content requires hands-on coding and development, and also guidance and mentorship to your team. You will be expected to provide technical and architectural recommendations for improving the business processes and recurring system errors. On certain projects, this person may lead cross functional teams that will include developers, business champions, end users, and contractors. Effective communication skills will be essential to succeed in an environment where the team members and stake holders are spread across the global business operation.
Responsibilities:
Lead developer and analyst for successful resolution of issues and projects.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
Estimate technical and organizational implications and efforts to resolve issues and implement additional functionality.
Accept ownership of system issues and manage issues through triage and resolution.
Monitor system issues proactively resolve recurring issues
Lead new module implementations, upgrades, and application integrations, etc.
Develop extensions using Oracle recommended framework or tool set.
Develop applications that use the Open Interfaces and APIs for Oracle E-Business Suite.
Write and execute complex functions/stored procedures, code optimization, and performance tuning.
Track software development progress within the group and coach and implement software development standards.
Design and develop application solutions to solve business functional requirements.
Lead projects with functional analysts and business functional areas to research and identify the best technical solution to support the most efficient business processes
Develop technical design documents for conversions, extensions, interfaces, and reports.
Participate in technology architecture design, development planning reviews, and code reviews.
Optimize applications to ensure maximum availability, performance, and security.
Interface with business customers to gather and document business and system requirements.
Desired Skills and Background:
5 + years knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite.
Bachelors degree, preferably Computer Science
5 + years experience with Oracle Database, Oracle Developer tool set (Forms/Reports./PL/SQL).
Expert knowledge of Forms, Reports, SQL, PL/SQL, XML/XML Gateway, OAF, Shell Scripts
Expert experience with Oracle Workflow, Jdeveloper, JSP, 11i Application APIs, 11i Application Open Interfaces.
In-depth knowledge of Oracle configurations / setups for 11i E-Business Suite, table structures and schemas, Flexfields, Concurrent Managers, Custom Object Library, Workflow.
Hands on experience with 3+ implementations.
Experience leading large technical teams through critical projects.
Moderate level of knowledge of UNIX environments such as HP UX or Solaris
Basic knowledge of Financial, Manufacturing and Supply Chain business concepts.
Experience writing and modifying SQL scripts (TOAD).
Experience working within established SDLC.
Other:
Excellent analytical and design skills ability to problem solve.
Excellent communication skills. Ability to educate technical and non-technical teams on issues, tasks, and impacts.
Familiarity with web/ecommerce applications (desired).
Familiarity with Data-Warehouse and ETL concepts.
International and multi-language customizations (preferred).
