Water Resources Office Manager
Job Location: Sacramento, CA
Experience: 10-20 years of experience
Professional services firm operating nationally provides services in program management, planning, engineering, architecture, surveying, geographic information services, and the environmental sciences. Clients include government agencies at all levels, corporations, real estate developers, colleges and universities, school districts, and other commercial and institutional organizations.
Immediate opening for a Office/Program/Project Manager in the Sacramento, California Office
Sacramento Office/Program/Project Manager
Job duties: Serve as the Sacramento Office Manager and establish a water resources practice in the California Central Valley. Responsibilities include:
Business Development
Client management
Resource planning (e.g., staffing, budgeting)
Project oversight
Administrative/Operational management
Position Requirements: minimum requirements for the position are:
Registered Professional Engineer in California (or able to get via reprocity within 6 months)
10+ years experience in floodplain studies, water resources, or closely related engineering field
5+ years experience in project management- very strong PM skills
Understanding/knowledge of the unique flood hazards of the western US (e.g., levees, alluvial fans, moveable bed streams, etc)
Experience in writing proposals, preparing project cost estimates, and negotiating task orders and contracts
Excellent interpersonal skills
Entrepreneurial spirit interests
Strong client relation skills
The following, while not absolute requirements are nice to haves in the ideal candidate:
Experience doing flood insurance studies for FEMA
Experience in using the FLO 2D model
Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification
Experience on projects (especially water resources or floodplain studies) for state and local government agencies in California
Existing network of private and public sector contacts in California water resources and/or floodplain management communities
