Great opportunity to join an expanding manufacturing leader as the Accounting Manager. You will participate on the plant and corporate leadership team and have responsibility for overseeing and directing all plant programs related to accounting, budgeting, treasury, credit control, and risk management.
--- Prepare monthly and quarterly forecast treasury reports and the weekly and monthly actuals for all entities.
--- Monitor daily cash and bank indebtedness supporting the weekly payment decisions in coordination with accounts payable and purchasing department.
--- Provide day-to-day leadership, direction and development for the accounting and finance staff members including preparation of written administrative or accounting procedures.
--- Coordinate with Engineering to manage a consolidated Fixed Asset Register
--- Coordinate with various department heads to manage any budget deficiencies.
--- Coordinate with Production Planning Department to manage Inventory Values; Standard vs Actual variance reconciliations etc.
--- Prepare monthly Financial Reporting Package on all entities and monthly/quarterly consolidated Financial Reporting Package for Management.
--- Coordinate A/R and A/P inter-company reconciliation, payments/collections, and determination of customer credit limits and payment terms in cooperation with the sales team.--- Manage the month-end closing process, including all required reconciliations and journal entries including inventory reconciliations and audit support.
--- Monthly determination of unrealized gain and losses in foreign currency.
--- Perform as needed foreign currency trade (spot, forward, etc.) with the bank and wire transfers in coordination with the CFO
--- Quarterly determination of bad debt reserve.
--- Negotiate bank fees and support CFO in other bank negotiations including renewal of Corporate Credit Facilities.
--- Handle duties and responsibilities related to 401K plan in coordination with HR Department
--- Prepare Bank Compliance Documents as required by Bank.
--- Prepare and file all required Sales and Use tax returns, Corporation Tax Returns, and Corporate Compliance Filings as required.
--- Achieve cash flow objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
--- Coordinate the entire accounting and financial reporting activity for month end and year-end along with audit supervision in cooperation with the CFO.
--- Participate with CFO in formulating the annual budget.
--- Promote all policies and initiatives in the Accounting and Finance Department to streamline and increase efficiency of the delivery of timely and accurate financial information.
--- Directly supervises: Accountants, Accounts Payable Specialist, and Accounts Receivable Specialist
--- B.S. Accounting Degree and/or Business Administration (MBA or Master in Business Science is preferred) with 8+ years experience in accounting and financial management at a chemical plant or related industrial manufacturing operation.--- Must have a solid understanding of Standard Cost, Manufacturing Variance vs Actual Cost etc. --- Must have clear understanding of GAAP/ IFRS rules surrounding inventory valuation methods (FIFO, LIFO), Lower of Cost or Market etc.
--- Must be able to multitask in fast paced - intensive work environment
--- Strong computer skills in spreadsheet applications are essential including advanced Excel functions
--- JD Edwards experience preferred but not required
--- CMA and/or CPA is preferred
--- Ability to work in the USA without sponsorship, now or in the future
