Environmental Health and Safety Manager
Job Location: Phoenix, AZ

Phoenix, Arizona Opportunity: Responsibilities and Authorities
This position is responsible for planning, directing and implementing health, environmental and safety programs in compliance with Company, Local, State and Federal rules and regulations to ensure a safe, healthy and accident-free work environment. The Regional HES Manager must drive continuous growth and improvement within his/her areas of responsibility and lead his or her areas development to ensure the facilitys future success and sustainability.
Duties and Tasks
Provide vision and leadership that will drive the safety initiative
Plan and implement programs to train managers and employees in safety practices, fire prevention and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment and other materials.
Primary contact with OSHA and EPA.
Prepare and analyze studies and lead investigations of accidents and injuries.
Cooperate in the preparation of material and evidence for organizations use in hearings, lawsuits and insurance investigations.
Compile and submit accident reports required by regulatory agencies.
Represent Company in community or industry safety groups and programs.
Maintain safety and environmental files and records.
Requirements
College degree in a related field and 3-5 years safety experience in a manufacturing plant (confirmed experience may substitute for degree)
Proven leadership skills
Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations and experience in OSHA record keeping requirements
Training experience and ability to address group meetings
Knowledge of fire protection systems and hazardous waste management
Knowledge of workers compensation and case management preferred
Safety Inspection/Audit experience
Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus
