In this full time, direct hire position as a DoD Professional Linux Consultant, you will provide technical LINUX problem identification for an established list of prestigious DEFENSE /DOD Clients including system architecture definition, hardware/software specification and/or design, implementation, testing, client training, and deployment. You will monitor project status, execution and schedule objectives. You must be able to work on a diverse variety of problems while selecting methods and techniques for solutions and be able to communicate effectively. This position requires you to work independently with minimal guidance. You will be expected to have superb technical and communication skills, facilitating successful delivery of projects such as: providing reference architectures, proofs of concept, benchmarks, training sessions, designs, automation programs or scripts, performance enhancements, documentation and product patches, as required.
Requires 5-9 years experience and excellent technical skills in Unix/Linux system configuration and administration that includes some or all of these areas: networking, security, kernel modules, open source and proprietary software tools for monitoring and management, file systems, SAN storage, LDAP integration, Linux kernel and module compilations, RPM packages creation and deployment, authoring programs using scripting languages (e.g. bash, ksh, python, perl), high availability clusters and cluster file systems (install, configure, tune, test, administer). Must have experience desired with development tools (GCC, various IDEs, CVS, Rational Suite), source version control tools and source code repositories, and relational databases.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Advanced knowledge of Unix or Linux database administration and tuning and advanced knowledge of Linux kernel internals, including performance tuning experience is a definite plus
Must have EXCELLENT English communications skills.
Must be willing to travel 80-100 or relocate to client site area. Relocation assistance is available.
Must be a US Citizen and have an active Secret or Top Secret clearance
