Our client a global industrial controls manufacturer in Illinois is looking for an Application Engineer for their North American Headquarters. The Applications Engineer will be responsible for OEM customer applications within the engine, generator and power generation industry.
Position responsibilities include:
Assist sales representatives with technical questions and specific product application
Assist OEM accounts with product applications (ie: engines, generators and compressors)
Travel to customer sites to assist with product troubleshooting and application
Resolve electronic issues of controls applications for OEMs and end users
Work along side the engineering team installing, troubleshooting and ensuring product quality
Qualifications:
Minimal Associates Degree in engineering technology, or equivalent work experience is required. A Bachelors Degree in electronic or electrical engineering is preferred
Minimal three years of hands on experience with industrial controls, governors or switchgear
Past experience with commissioning and paralleling switchgear in industrial generator applications
Past experience troubleshooting PLC controls on industrial generators, industrial diesel or gasoline engines and/or gas compression product lines
Strong analysis skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to travel nationwide 50 of the time
