We are conducting a national search for an experienced Infection Control Coordinator. Our client who is recognized in the area as the leading provider of quality healthcare, is a 500 bed acute care medical center. As the Infection Control Coordinator you will be responsible for leading your Infection Prevention team in coordinating all hospital programs involving surveillance, prevention and control for infections. You will also be responsible for facilitating development of infection control related policies, procedures and educational programs to comply with local, state, federal, Joint Commission and CDC regulations and guidelines; Facilitate infection control committee and activities supporting the communication and reporting of infection control information; Work in conjunction with safety and emergency management staff as it relates to monitoring the environment of care and performing infection control risk assessments; Develop and maintain open lines of communications and positive working relationships with all departments, services and medical staff. The Infection Control Coordinator will lead a staff of 4 in the department to include 3 nurses and a part time secretary. This role reports to the Director of Quality & Outcomes Management.
Our ideal candidate will have the following credentials: RN licensure in the state of Kentucky (or eligible) required; Baccalaureate degree in Nursing (BSN) with Masters (MSN) highly preferred; A minimum of three years acute care infection control experience required; Management level experience highly preferred; Certified in Infection Control (CIC) highly preferred; Demonstrated ability to facilitate process improvement initiatives for health care acquired infection; Possess the ability to enter and manage data, create reports and documentation; Demonstrated computer literacy (Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint); Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
