Well known distributor of pet foods looking for an Inventory Control/ Purchasing Manager for California distribution facility.
Prefer candidates with experience in inventory planning responsibility in a consumer product or wholesale distribution environment. Planning, scheduling, and purchasing of all inventory needs. 1. Monitor, Forecast, Open Sales by Item, Open Purchase orders, Purchase Orders by Item reports and any other inventory related reports. 2. Insure availability of product and buy (via purchase order) in support of all customer order requirements 3. Responsible for the accuracy of both the perpetual and physical inventories 4. Manage the Cycle Counting program 5. Serve as primary focal point for the annual physical inventory. 6. Serve as primary focal point for training in inventory control activities, policy and procedures. 7. Discuss with department heads as required to identify, track and find resolution(s) for distribution related quality and inventory control issues. 8. Provide product rotation status to Distribution Manager 9. Coordinate manpower and space requirements for Inbound/Outbound shipments with the distribution Manager 10. Provide best case and work around scenarios for inventory availability and new product roll out issues 11. Coordinate policy and responsibilities within the company as well as with suppliers. 12. Coordinate competitive pricing activities between suppliers 14. Participate in all planning phases, including inventory control, quality control laboratory testing, and transportation cost Prefer 2+ years college level course work, 2+ years of experience in inventory planning in a consumer product or wholesale distribution environment Must be able to perform light to physical work - lifting up to 30 pounds, reaching, bending. Qualified candidate should have inventory management, warehousing, material and production scheduling, purchasing, strong leadership, computer skills (Excel, word, Outlook, Quikbooks). Prefer Fishbowl Inventory or WMS, ERP knowledge Bilingual Spanish / English preferred. Must have a Class C Drivers license
