SAN Disk Administration
EMC Disk Administration and Unix Administration (IBM AIX and/or SUN Solaris), Intel Implement, administer, monitor and manage all EMC Disk hardware and software. Implement, administer, monitor and manage all Unix hardware and software. Implement application software as required.
For all Unix Servers and EMC Disk areas both Production and Development independently perform the following tasks:
Provide project planning and management. Create and maintain effective policies, standards, strategies and procedures. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all jobs and changes through proper testing. Ensure proper preventative and curative system maintenance. Architect, monitor, performance tune and support all aspects of the hardware and software. Create and maintain up-to-date documentation. Ensure Disaster Recovery plans exist and are tested regularly. Mentor and train other personnel. Manage vendor relationships and assist in contract negotiation.
For all Production and Development systems, work with the other System Services groups as well as Development, Production Support and Ecommerce personnel and vendors in order to achieve sufficient performance/capacity levels, resolve problem issues and make general improvements.
Ensure appropriate Production Support for all Production and Development systems. Evaluate new Unix Server and Disk technologies and tools to remain current with Industry trends and practices and make recommendations for their application within the enterprise.
Additional responsibilities as requested or required. Five years of experience in EMC Disk Administration and Unix Administration (IBM AIX and/or SUN Solaris) is required. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related business area is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of Intel Administration, Database Administration, Security Administration and Network Administration is required. Demonstrated knowledge of Messaging Administration (Lotus Notes), Client Administration and Application Development concepts is preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
