We are conducting a specialized search for an experienced Infection Preventionist to assist with development, implementation and evaluation of a multi-disciplinary program for surveillance, prevention and control of infections. Position responsibilities will include integrating clinical findings, laboratory results and other diagnostic tests to determine the presence of infections; Identifying needs for infection control precautions in high risk patients and assisting with coordination and implementation of infection control precautions; Conducting surveillance as assigned; Assessing clusters of microorganisms and conducting an epidemiological investigation of nosocomial outbreaks including implementation of control measures; Utilizing data for the assessment of unit specific/service specific infection rates; Identifying possible employee exposure to communicable diseases; Assisting in the development of infection control related policies, procedures and educational programs to comply with local, state, federal regulations (JCAHO/AOA/CDC/HICPAC); Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with all departments, services and medical staff. This position will report to the Assistant Director of Infection Prevention.
Position Requirements: A Bachelors Degree in Nursing; Registered Nurse with current Florida license or ability to obtain reciprocity; 5 plus years of clinical experience; 2 plus years in acute care infection control and hospital epidemiology; Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred.
