Shipping & Receiving Manager - National / International
We are a 75 year old company with manufacturing operations in Northern Indiana. As a result of our national and international business, we are adding a shipping and receiving manager to our operations group to lead this supply chain function.
Our Shipping & Receiving Manager is responsible for on-time shipment performance, developing integrated systems and maintaining inventory accuracy, packaging, inbound/outbound logistics, and work force development.
The Shipping & Receiving manager shall implement improvement strategies and manage those improvements within the supply chain. This role interfaces with the entire operation on problem prevention, product inventory accuracy, transportation issues, and alternative solutions to get products to customers timely, without damage, and consistently.
The Shipping & Receiving manager interfaces with purchasing, production, scheduling and service providers to identify, communicate and resolve issues and improve upon those activities that have a positive effect on customers. We anticipate your experience to include;
* Bachelors degree in business, technical, or related areas with at least 5+ years experience in a Shipping/Warehouse Management position.
* Experience in both National and International shipping systems / regulations.
* Exposure and a working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Techniques within the manufacturing and supply chain discipline.
* Demonstrated understanding of Inventory management systems and best practices within this asset based line item.
* Management and control of inventory in a manufacturing environment.
* Leadership of warehouse, shipping, and transportation vendors.
We are located 3 hours north of Indianapolis Indiana and two hours east of Chicago, just a short distance from the South Eastern tip of Lake Michigan.
