We are a not-for-profit healthcare system made up of local people and governed by local community leaders. We exist to serve our communities, by providing state-of-the-art medical care in a hospital setting and by promoting wellness through events, screenings and classes.

We are seeking an experienced Director of Quality. Must be an RN, must have BSN: prefer MSN. Previous experience in performance improvement preferred. Additional course work in case management, performance improvement preferred. Additional course work in case management, performance improvement and CQI. CPHQ and/or CCM certification preferred.

Establishes and enforces policies, procedures, standards and objectives. Directs and supervises staff as well as workflow. Position has budgetary or fiscal accountability. Responsible for planning and implementing the performance improvement program to meet the needs of the hospital. Provides education to medical staff, hospital staff and Governing Body around quality and case management initiatives. Facilitates performance improvement activities and CQI activities throughout the hospital. Acts as resource person to administrative team, department managers and medical staff. Performs clinical risk management functions in coordination with the Director of Risk Management. Maintains oversight of infection control activities and monitors outcomes to care related to infection control indicators. Assists department managers with preparation for medical staff committees. Oversight responsibility for all regulator body surveys, i.e., JCAHO, State Licensing Review, HCFA (CMS) Validation surveys. Maintains oversight responsibility for all performance improvement activities conducted throughout the institution. Is responsible for the implementation, coordination and direction of resource utilization management and case management activities. Will maintain oversight responsibility for medical necessity reviews, appropriateness of levels of care by applying nationally recognized criteria. Position is responsible for approving timekeeping, employee evaluation, meeting applicable regulatory standards, approving supply orders and department strategic planning. Oversee the coordination of medical staff peer review.

Ability to develop and analyze quality/performance data to identify trends, develop action plans, and implement program modification for change. Ability to manage day to day operations of quality, case management, infection control and medical staff peer reviews. Must have a good understanding of regulatory standards/requirements. Able to manage the department budget and develop cost containment strategies to operate the department.
