We are conducting a specialized search for an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager to provide leadership in the delivery of care and nursing practice within the clinical unit. The Nurse Manager will participate in unit employee selection through interviewing and the hiring process; Direct and evaluate all personnel according to hospital, nursing and unit philosophy and objectives. Develop unit activities that support the elements of extending excellence. Adhere to the Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participate in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Other responsibilities include: Demonstrating leadership skills through timely, appropriate decisions and organizational ability with appropriate priority setting. Directing and providing supervision of department employees. Monitoring performance (evaluations completed on time), education requirements, and staff work hours. Maintaining professional competency by participating in continuing education and appropriate learning experiences, both internal and external. Attending pertinent conferences and seminars regarding clinical nursing, business or management; Acting as a resource to the Bed Management department regarding patient placement, transfer and appropriate clinical length of stay. This position has 35 FTEs with a total head count of 50.
Position Requirements: BSN required; Masters Degree in Nursing or related field preferred; 2+ years of management experience over labor and delivery with previous mother/baby or nursery experience preferred. Current valid Florida State Board of Nursing registered professional nurse license; ACLS, BLS; National Certification in specialty; Minimum of two years staff nurse experience; Possesses a broad nursing knowledge, leadership ability, accepts responsibility, exercises authority and functions independently. Possesses insight for employee growth and development and the ability to do effective impartial counseling. Personal qualities such as kindness, compassion, understanding, integrity, respect, sense of humor, discretion and confidentiality. Professional qualities such as team builder, stewardship, communicator, and innovator.
