Company is a major distributor of industrial and construction maintenance repair products consisting of mechanical and electrical components, safety supplies, specialty chemicals and cutting and machining tools. Sales are in excess of $1.0 billion. They have 150 Branch Sales and Distribution facilities across the USA.
This position will have 2-3 direct outside sales reports to start. The Sales Manager will report to a Zone Market Manager who has responsibility over multiiple Branch Sales Facilities. The territory is metro Baltimore to Washington D.C. Government sales experience will be a major part of this role. 80% of the time will be in the field on Business/New Segment Development. Metalworking market knowledge is a plus--but not required. Prior Industrial Distribution experience in direct sales is highly preferred. Local competitors are small. The right qualified people will most likely come from regional and national competitors.
The position is open because of expansion. The territory is growing. Sales are up in the area.
