Distribution Center Supervisor Near Nashville Tennessee
COMPANY AND COMMUNITY INFORMATION:
The Distribution Center, which distributes products exclusively for a high volume manufacturing company, is located about 20 miles outside of Nashville. This position is open due to the promotion of one of the current Supervisors. The company is privately held with a good book of business. It has an established customer base as well as a diversity of new customers. There are excellent opportunities for advancement for talented people with the leadership, enthusiasm and drive to help the company to continually meet and exceed its goals. There is a lot to see and do in the area. There are a multitude of outstanding attractions, shopping, restaurants, music and entertainment.
DUTIES:
The Distribution Center Supervisor will lead up to 45 hourly people in this fast paced work environment. The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring prompt, efficient and accurate handling of product. This is a team oriented work environment and the Supervisor will be responsible for empowering employees and maintaining a positive and productive team atmosphere.
Responsibilities may include supervision of a shift or coordination of multiple work groups within the facility.
Coach, train, develop and hold associates accountable for work expectations.
Make sure safety, quality, accuracy, productivity metrics are met.
Use Warehouse Management System knowledge and QAD warehousing software and other tools for day to day operation of the Distribution Facility.
Responsible for implementing process improvements.
Assist with managing budgets and forecasting labor planning.
BACKGROUND PROFILE:
Minimum of 2 years warehouse supervisory work experience required. Five or more years of experience are preferred.
WMS knowledge and application required. QAD systems experience a plus.
Experience in all aspects of warehousing/distribution operations.
Willing to work Monday Friday on any shift between 6am and 4:30pm. This may require coming in earlier some days and staying later other days.
Demonstrated leadership and the ability to motivate people.
Degree a strong plus.
