Job Summary: 
This position is responsible for assisting the Reimbursement Analyst with participating facilities in capturing and billing appropriate Medicare information while adhering to all state and federal regulations which govern Medicare. 

Essential Job Functions 
Assists facility staff in capturing and tracking the appropriate ancillary billing information. Receives and organizes ancillary billing information from participating facilities. 
Verifies prepares and calculates all ancillary charges Medicare Part A and B for data entry into system. 
Prepares invoices by calculating and/or computing billing amounts for Medicare Medicare Advantage Plans all others as appropriate. 
From appropriate information gathered creates electronic file for transmission of data to intermediaries on a timely basis. Identifies researches and resolves outstanding or denied Medicare claims Medicare Advantage Plan Medicaid Coinsurance and/or Medicare Coinsurance claims. 
Prepares maintains and tracks UB04 claims. 
Complies with any requests for records from Medicare. Assists facility staff with resident and family questions regarding Medicare. 
Stays current on co-insurance billing procedures specific to each insurance company. Maintains appropriate spreadsheets and databases to track necessary Medicare information. Keeps up-to-date on facility Medicare statistics i.e. number of claims bad debts and billable hours etc. 
Remains apprised informed and educated about Medicare issues that have relevancy to the facilities. 
Assists with special projects as assigned.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities 
3-4 years' experience of general accounting background. Medicare billing experience a must. Proficient in computer database programs i.e. Access Excel Word Excellent data entry skills Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks. Excellent written and oral communication skills Function independently have flexibility and personal integrity. Employee must demonstrate on an ongoing basis the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and department heads. 

Education/Certification
Equivalent years of experience in field required.
