CLIN QUAL & PATIENT SAFETY CLE

Job Location: Wichita, KS

Job Type: Part-Time

Shift: 8 Hour Day Shift / Hours: 16 FTE: .4

Position Summary:
Manages event reports that are submitted by date stamping distributing coding data entry filing and follow-up tracking of each report.   Interacts with many members of the department as well as with medical staff members and a variety of organizational staff.
 
Essential Functions:
Other duties may be assigned. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
 
  • Date stamps and routes event reports as they come in daily.
  • Enters the data from event reports into the tracking software on a daily basis.
  • Files the event reports so that they are easily retrieved when needed.
  • Tracks the reporting and follow up process from beginning to end to assure that deadlines are met.
  • Generates multiple "on demand" reports for a variety of users from the event report data tracking system.
  • Provides routine reports to selected staff in user-friendly formats which facilitate improvement and patient safety.
  • Understands the data elements and how they are used to enhance clinical quality and patient safety in hospital and physician comparative data.
  • Collaborates with hospital staff and medical staff to develop systems for data collection compilation and analysis.
  • Collaborates in operational planning by participating in the development of departmental goals.
  • Attends staff meetings regularly.
  • Demonstrates concern for and support of the mission and philosophy of Via Christi Regional Medical Center in daily work performance and interactions with staff members.
  • Adheres to the Medical Center standards for attendance.

Qualifications:
Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients customers and the general public. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions percentages area circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
 
Education and/or Experience:
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
