HIM TECHNICIAN

Department: SFC HEALTH INFORMATION MGMT

Shift: 8 Hour Evening Shift / Hours: 28 FTE: .7

Position Summary:
Knowledge of all aspects of maintenance and retrieval of Medical information via paper and electronic systems (Hybrid Medical Record). Requires skill set to multitask and prioritize duties. Maintain all medical record information in such manner to respond to requests and comply with confidentiality rules and regulations. Daily maintains positive customer relations with Medical staff other hospital personnel and external requestors. Other duties as assigned. Your role is essential to the productivity of the department.
 
Essential Functions:
Other duties may be assigned. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Receives record requests.
  • Retrieves records and checks them to the appropriate location on chart management system as needed.
  • Displays guest relations and teamwork in performing duties.
  • Maintains adequate working knowledge of confidentiality and compliance.

Education and/or Experience: 
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
