Position Summary:
Demonstrate initiative and adaptability toward organizing and processing departmental activities such as coordinating meetings scheduling events making travel arrangements prioritizing duties and typing. Plans for efficient and effective use of time. Exhibits strong organizational skills. Participates in and supports team activities. Makes positive contributions and suggestions to improve work flow routine organization and project completion. Displays exemplary guest relations skills. Completes accurate clear and concise reports and correspondence. Supports the goals and mission of Via Christi Regional Medical Center.
Essential Functions:
Other duties may be assigned. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job. Provides secretarial support for director(s) typing reports/correspondence compiling information into reports/forms QI (quarterly and annual) Budget Quality of Work Life goals strategic plan JCAHO; policies and procedures job descriptions competencies schedules and forms. Coordinates travel arrangements/completes travel reports check requests. Records types and distributes minutes for Surgical Services meetings. Schedules meetings involving various departments interacting with Surgical Services. Prioritizes and distributes mail. Copies/distributes reports charts or graphs for various projects. Interacts with all Departments within the RMC. Orders office supplies for all of Surgical Services. Provides troubleshooting for office machines (fax copy machine printers computers etc.) and makes arrangements for service calls. Compiles/types various lists for computer reports (agency files/agency fill rates/cost of agency). Completes catering requests. Keeps department workroom stocked/organized.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to three years of secretarial experience preferred. One year college level course work desired. Recent experience in healthcare environment desired. Typing speed of 60 wpm preferred. Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Word for Windows. Experience with other Microsoft Office programs desired.
