Gulfstream Team Lead - Land

Job Location: Palmetto, FL

Description:
Supervises the land related activities within assigned Division and/or supervises other land staff or contract personnel by providing technical expertise and serving as mentor in all phases of the land function. Provides performance planning and evaluation to local staff. Responsible for budget preparation and forecasting for assigned Division. Provides leadership for large complex projects or department functions in absence of manager. Provides assistance in route selection for potential projects. Prepares land cost estimates for staffing, acquisition, legal and damage settlements and forecasts costs throughout the project. Negotiates damage settlements in accordance with established real estate, agricultural, and forestry standards.

Develops/negotiates appropriate land rehabilitation and restoration requirements. Provides land related support activities to assigned operating Districts/Divisions including project support activities, landowner contacts, encroachment support, and proactively pursuing favorable land use regulations. Works with internal departments/teams to evaluate regulatory proposals, provide strategies and comment on regulations and give testimony at public hearings/meetings. Regularly works with federal, state and local agencies, private industry and landowners to promote compatible uses of the pipeline corridors to ensure pipeline integrity and preservation of land rights. May serve on local boards or committees. Assists and advises other company personnel by interpreting land rights and strategies. Obtains and maintains easement rights, zoning permits, storage rights, grants and other land or land rights from private, federal, state and local entities.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and at least seven years of directly related experience. A thorough, detailed knowledge and experience with real property law, engineering/surveying principles, pipeline construction and operating practices, appraisal techniques and title search procedures. Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills, problem solving ability and appropriate use of discretion and independent judgment along with the ability to relate well to a variety of external and internal persons, agencies and departments required.This position will be filled at a level commensurate with skills, experience, and qualifications of the candidate.
