Pipeline Technician
Job Location: Neshanic Stat, NJ
Description:
Position will be filled at a level that is commensurate with knowledge and experience. Maintain and operate a natural gas compressor station and dehydration plant equipment and facilities including engine driven reciprocating natural gas compressors, turbine driven centrifugal compressors, natural gas dehydration units, and their ancillary equipment (pumps, heat exchangers, filters, instrumentation and controls, etc.), piping, boilers, valves, storage wells, separators, storage tanks, reciprocating air compressors, auxiliary generator, dehydration, heaters, etc. Maintain and/or operate all pipeline facilities including valves, piping, pigging activities, right-of-way, and inspection of third party activities, meter stations and regulator stations. Successful applicant will be required to learn all modes of station operations and be qualified and willing to work shift work and be on an oncall rotation if necessary. Limited relocation may be available.
High school diploma required. Associate's or two-year technical school degree in mechanical, electronic or related field preferred, but equivalent work experience will be considered. Good computer skills are required. Ability to use computer programs such as Windows, Peoplelink, Outlook, MSWord, and Excel is necessary. Individual must be self-motivated with a willingness and ability to work unsupervised. Natural gas pipeline or plant maintenance experience preferred. This position requires participation in the Operations Development Plan (ODP).
Physical Requirements:
standing/walking, climbing stairs, ladders, scaffolds; bending/stooping/squatting; carrying and lifting items which sometimes weigh more than 45 lbs. Working Conditions: Exposure to extreme heat and/or cold temperatures; high noise levels; enclosed spaces.
