Description:
THIS POSITION IS OFFERED AT AN ENGINEER I OR II LEVEL. Provide multidiscipline operation and engineering field support for the Northwest Pipeline system. Manage the company's right of way encroachment policies by representing the company in meetings with government and private entities, developers and landowners; reviewing drawings and proposals, providing engineering calculations for stress, blasting, and piping design. Work with district, land and engineering personnel in resolving conflicts, and providing input for encroachment and reimbursement agreements. Maintain running total of all emergency pipe, including the pipe size, specifications and locations. Provide support to district and engineering personnel in calculating regulator and relief valve capacities, along with performing an annual review of all over-pressure protection devices capacities. Manage projects by performing some or all of the following functions: develop detailed scope; prepare estimates; design facilities and piping systems; prepare/review engineering drawings; specify, bid and assist in contract preparation; prepare/review work plans and procedures; and commission facilities. Projects include all phases of pipeline facilities, including meter stations, separation facilities, and compressor facilities. Duties include troubleshoot operation and maintenance problems and develop solutions; maintain company drawings; and adhere to company specifications, policies, and procedures. Interact with district and home office personnel, suppliers, and local, state and federal regulatory representatives. Position reports to the Operations Technical Support Manager, Northwest Pipeline.
Requirements:
B.S. in Mechanical or Civil Engineering with 1+ years of pipeline experience. Excellent communication skills, leadership skills, the desire to learn new skills, the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, and to be able to adjust priorities and manage several different projects concurrently are essential for the position. Must be able to work with all internal budget, project, and accounting systems.
