Responsibilities
Responsible for negotiation and commercial execution of miscellaneous Engineering and Construction (E&C) contracts entered into by Gulf Coast Technical Services Deepwater group. These contracts include long form contracts where contract values are potentially in excess of $100MM, non-standard MSAs, RFSs and Change Orders. The position ensures that E&C contracts are negotiated in the context of Williams' other obligations and will bring commerciality, risk control and consistency to the execution and creation of E&C contracts. Leads negotiations at the pre-contract stage with support of relevant technical personnel and supports project managers and the core team in relation to construction issues during project execution.
Contract negotiation - must be able to follow complex legal, technical and commercial concepts
Drafting contract provisions (terms and conditions, technical and commercial provisions) to a legal standard
Enhancement of business relationships with clients and contractors
Identification of risks in advance and acceptance of appropriate levels of risk
Creating appropriate contracting strategies.
Liaison / interface with legal, insurance and commercial functions
Capitalize on commercial opportunities as they arise.

Minimize E&C claims / change orders from contractors
Ensuring Project Managers are aware and accepting of contractual obligations
Ensuring that contracts are adhered to by all parties concerned

Bachelors / Masters Degree
Background in business transactions and contract law
10+ years experience with offshore construction contracts - preferably in relation to fabrication or alternatively installation.
Good understanding of floating production and/or pipeline/subsea technology
Education Level
Bachelor's Level Degree

Williams Corporation will pay relocation costs for this position.
