Description:
The Senior GIS Analyst will be responsible for providing guidance and services in the field of Geographic Information Systems, and will be accountable for the organization, analysis, and ongoing management of geospatial data in support of the Piceance Highlands and Bargath Asset Teams. The successful candidate will work closely with both asset and support teams in the Denver and Parachute offices.
Position Responsibilities:
1) Provide GIS-based maps and presentations in support of permitting, environmental monitoring and reporting, construction, drilling, completion, and production activity.2) Serve as the GIS liaison with the Regulatory, Environmental, Construction and Operations, Drilling, Geology, and Engineering departments.3) Assist with strategic planning, development of standards and protocols, and promote the effective use of GIS to achieve company goals and objectives.4) Set up programs to manage a variety of data, including but not limited to drilling permits, storm water management BMPs, spills and waste management, pits and fluid level tracking, reclamation, asset inventory, surface and ground water resource data, analytical data, etc.5) Participate on multi-disciplinary planning teams such as new well and pipeline infrastructure projects. Some field work required.6) Occasionally serve as a technical liaison with contract service providers such as land surveying, engineering, or construction companies.7) Handle multiple tasks with changing and sometimes conflicting responsibilities and accountabilities.8) Perform as an enthusiastic team player capable of completing tasks in a group environment.9) Coordinate and procure as needed aerial imagery to support on-going and future planning, permitting, and compliance needs.10) Interface as needed with GIS counterpart in the Valley business asset.Salary will be commensurate with skills, experience,and qualifications of the candidate.
Requirements:
1) 6+ years of progressive experience in an enterprise-wide GIS environment is required.2) General understanding of the planning, permitting, drilling, completions, and operations processes associated with the oil and gas industry.3) Familiarity with Federal, State of Colorado, and local regulations pertinent to the oil and gas industry.4) Self motivated and able to work independently.5) Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
Education and Experience Level:
Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Geography, Natural Sciences, or related discipline.
Salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, and qualifications of the candidate.
