Description:
The Engineer Sr position serves the various asset teams in a subject matter expert role with the proper design, implementation, configuration, and operation of the company's SCADA systems and oil and gas production automation control systems for Williams' operated wells in the Piceance, Powder River, Fort Worth and Arkoma Basins. Engineer serves to promote field operation efficiencies and troubleshoot complex SCADA, automation and communication problems in the company's production basins. Engineer is responsible for the development, implementation and or compilation of SCADA and automation guidelines, technical information and standardized policies and procedures regarding system design, maintenance, operation and workflows. Position ensures that SCADA and field automation equipment are configured in accordance with company, industry and regulatory standards and or contractual requirements. Engineer may work extensively with IT to ensure proper infrastructure and communications design, configuration and installation. Engineer is responsible for undertaking continuous process improvement studies and projects; designs and provides technical training; compiles safety policy and procedures; and formulates corrective action where needed. Position performs quality assurance studies and collaborates with the quality assurance department to monitor and ensure compliance. Engineer's responsibilities are included in the following areas: various SCADA systems, wireless communication devices (I/O radios and long haul radios), Process Logic Controllers (PLC), Remote Terminal Units (RTU), Electronic Flow Meters (EFM), automation instrumentation and devices, SCADA instrumentation, data mapping, tag naming, universal data codes, facility naming, facility attributes, screen setup and configuration, graphics, security, polling schedules, alarming, callout, and communications infrastructure. The position ensures the proper integration of measurement, automation, compression and plant control data into SCADA or the enterprise historian to facilitate asset team decision making and to meet reporting needs or other regulatory requirements. Engineer is responsible for keeping apprized of technological advances and industry standards in areas of work. The ability to form and maintain relationships with the asset teams and key equipment and instrumentation vendors is required.
Requirements:
• B.S. Engineering - Petroleum, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or other related field, required; M.S. Engineering preferred
• Ten plus years SCADA, Controls, Instrumentation and related field operations experience preferred.
• Have the ability to configure, maintain and support SCADA Systems, RTUs/EFMs/PLCs, Radio Network Equipment, Instrumentation and Data Acquisition Systems and to train others in these areas.
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience with the latest Industry Standards: (ISA, AGA, GPA and API).
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience with different types of primary measurement equipment; (orifice, turbine, ultrasonic, rotary, coriolis liquid meters and v-cones).
• Knowledge of secondary measurement and automation devices; (Ferguson Beauregard, Fisher, ABB Totalflow, Barton Chart Recorders, Instruments, I/O and Long Haul Radio Systems)
• Working knowledge and experience with gas quality instrumentation; (gas and liquid chromatographs, moisture analyzers and oxygen analyzers)
• Excellent organizational and communications skills
