Responsibilities
Williams Energy (Canada) has an economic/corporate planning analyst opportunity in its Calgary office. The position is responsible for:
Developing comprehensive financial spreadsheets to model the financial impact of contemplated expansions, acquisitions, divestitures and long term commitments.
Objectively identifying, assessing, quantifying and communicating risks inherent in a given transaction.
Creating clear communications of financial assumptions, risks and valuation of proposed transactions including preparation of the Capital Diligence Business Case.
Preparation of various other external and internal presentations as needed.
Provide financial, accounting and tax expertise to deal teams.
Work with other Williams functional areas to ensure accuracy of assumptions (i.e. Legal, Tax, Treasury etc.)
Staying current with new developments in Industry, profession and valuation techniques and develop skills in relevant areas of weakness.
Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of discounted cash flows, risk adjusted cash flows, Monte Carlo analysis, accretion and other valuation concepts and techniques.
- Strong knowledge of financial statements, GAAP, partnership accounting and Canadian taxes
- Proven analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications with emphasis in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or direction
- Some knowledge of the mid-stream gas processing and Oil Sands Upgrading business preferred
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in Canada
