Description:
The Technical Specialist Sr. provides essential SCADA and automation support to the Measurement Services engineering staff and the various asset teams for Williams¿ operated wells in the Piceance, Powder River, Fort Worth and Arkoma Basins. Technical specialist will provide direct support for the implementation, configuration, and operation of the company¿s SCADA and oil and gas production automation systems. Position serves to promote field operation efficiencies, troubleshoot SCADA and automation systems problems and facilitate communications between the company¿s SCADA and automation systems. Position ensures that SCADA and field automation equipment are configured in accordance with company, industry and regulatory standards and or contractual requirements. Technical Specialist assists in the development and or compilation of SCADA and automation guidelines, technical information and standardized policies/procedures. Specialist assists engineering staff with process improvement studies and projects, quality assurance programs, training of field personnel, and safety compliance. The technical specialist may have critical responsibility in the following areas: remote terminal units (RTU), electronic flow meters (EFM), automation instrumentation and devices, SCADA instrumentation, data mapping, tag naming, universal data codes, facility naming, facility attributes, screen setup and configuration, graphics, security, polling schedules, alarming, callout, wireless communications devices, and communications infrastructure. The position will provide vital technical support for the integration of measurement, automation, compression and plant control data into SCADA or the enterprise historian to facilitate asset team decision making, reporting needs and regulatory requirements. Technical specialist is responsible for keeping apprized of technological advances and industry standards in areas of work.
Requirements:
¿Ten plus years automation control, SCADA and related field operations experience preferred. ¿B.S. or associates degree in an applied technology discipline or related field, desired¿Have the ability to configure, maintain and support RTUs/EFMs/PLCs, radio network equipment, instrumentation and SCADA systems and to train others in these areas.¿Comprehensive knowledge and experience with the latest industry standards: (ISA, AGA, GPA and API).¿Comprehensive knowledge and experience with different types of primary measurement equipment; (orifice, turbine, ultrasonic, rotary, coriolis liquid meters and v-cones).¿Knowledge of secondary measurement and automation devices; (Ferguson Beauregard, Fisher, ABB Totalflow, Barton Chart Recorders, Instruments, I/O and Long Haul Radio Systems)¿Working knowledge and experience with gas quality instrumentation; (gas and liquid chromatographs, moisture analyzers and oxygen analyzers)¿Excellent organizational and communications skills¿Must follow company policies and procedures.¿Willingness to continuously learn and keep up with the industry.
