Electronic degree or military equiv. plus 2 to 3 yrs experience in servicing Biomedical equipment
General Summary:
Under general supervision, repairs, tests, calibrates and maintains a variety of medical and non-medical equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are essential job accountabilities:
1 Performs preventative maintenance inspections and electrical safety testing and corrects problems encountered.
2 Analyzes electronic equipment for cause(s) of failure; isolates, tests, and replaces defective parts.
3 Uses available test equipment to test functioning of all medical equipment; troubleshoots functioning problems and repairs medical devices.
4 Makes necessary operational adjustments to electronic equipment and takes sensitivity, selectivity, and accuracy measurements.
5 Responds to emergency calls from critical care areas; troubleshoots equipment problems and repairs hardware as needed.
6 Works with equipment manufacturers on repair work and orders parts needed for equipment repair and maintenance.

7 Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
8 Participates in educational programs and inservice meetings.
9 Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
The following are nonessential job accountabilities for ADA purposes:
10 Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
11 Maintains appropriate records, reports, and files as required.
12 Attends meetings as required.
Performs other related duties as identified.
Qualifications:
Note: Other combinations of formal education, training and experience may be considered.
Minimum Education Associate's Degree
Minimum Experience 2 - 4 years
Physical Demands
Moderate physical effort (lift/carry 11 to 25 lbs)
Frequent prolonged standing/walking
Pushes/pulls or moves/lifts heavy equipment/supplies
Working Conditions
Exposed to hazards from electrical/mechanical/power equipment
May be exposed to the risk of bloodborne diseases
