ENGINEER (Req 12 002) Wednesday, May 23, 2012 LOCATION: Patuxent River, MD RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide engineering acquisition and systems engineering support for NAWC-AD 4.5.8 for the Air Traffic Navigation, Integration, and Coordination System (ATNAVICS). Apply engineering and Air Traffic Control (ATC) expertise to the development and fielding of 2 major Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) in support of the mobile ATNAVICS system. Assist program management in applying the NAVAIR Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process to the program, and assist in planning and executing appropriate program and performance specification reviews including PDR and CDR. Participate in program configuration management including reviewing contractor technical deliverables. Attend program management reviews, and travel as needed to visit participating contractor sites and fielded ATNAVICS sites. Responsible for drafting related engineering white papers, power point presentations, and studies related to the ATNAVICS system. Engineering disciplines applicable include mechanical, electrical, power generation, test and evaluation, and radar. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an Engineering discipline, plus four years relevant professional experience. Working knowledge of the NAVAIR SETR process (Systems Engineering Technical Review) required. Ability to apply engineering management skills to the ATNAVICS (Air Traffic Navigation, Integration, and Coordination System). Microsoft Office suite proficiency. Excellent communication and teamworking skills required. Marine or Navy Air Traffic Control knowledge, and experience with mechanical, electrical, power generation, and radar disciplines desired.
