General Job Description: MaintainIT, Ltd is a Facility and Plant Maintenance Services Company based in Greenville, SC. We currently have an opportunity to place a Maintenance Planner for one of our key clients in a pulp/paper manufacturing environment. This Maintenance Planner/Scheduler will have the primary role of supporting a proactive industrial maintenance team with all of the Electrical / Instrumentation and Mechanical maintenance work.
The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler plans, schedules and coordinates preventive, predictive and proactive maintenance including shutdown activities, using the computerized maintenance management system (Methos) as a primary tool. Job requires a broad knowledge of multi-craft skills, ability to gain the cooperation and credibility of a wide variety of personnel throughout the plant, and ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with production, maintenance, engineering and management. All of these activities will be performed with safety being the number 1 priority.
Specific Responsibilities: 1.. Plans and schedules maintenance work based on demand, workload, skill sets, and available parts; inspects work locations; uses the computer, CMMS, and other resources to develop plans. 2. Coordinates activities between operations and maintenance and outside contractors, vendors, and agencies as required. 3. Stays abreast of the activities of engineering projects and uses this information in planning and scheduling work. 4. Coordinates equipment repair, installation, modification to existing equipment and power outages with management, engineering and operations. 5. Assists in developing technical specifications for outside services. 6. Works with Engineering to develop and recommend changes to mechanical, electrical and instrument preventive and corrective maintenance and lubrication programs. 7. Advises maintenance and operational supervisors of critical and continuing maintenance problems. 8. Assists in the development of a warehouse plan for maintenance parts, supplies, materials and recommended inventory levels. 9. Assists in identifying and recommending training needs, equipment, specifications, and standards to help maintain consistent maintenance practices throughout the mill. 10. Recommends data gathering activities and report formats; determines reporting and analysis needs, and sets up and prepares special and periodic reports of maintenance activities; produces weekly schedules, charts, backlog reports for maintenance supervisors, and conducts weekly meetings for planning, Scheduling, and coordinating. 11. Tracks all equipment information, including spare parts and documentation. 12. Improve efficiency of maintenance department by lowering cost and improving plant systems.
Education and Experience: Associates Degree or equivalent Military Experience.. Ten-fifteen years Mechanical experience and an adapt knowledge of electrical and instrumentation in the paper industry or similar heavy rolling/continuous manufacturing.
