Summary Statement:
Applies extensive knowledge of principles, theories, concepts and industry practices, Generally Accepted Accounting Practices and other accounting standards relating to financial accounting.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
Develops solutions to a variety of complex and unusual problems that require independent judgment and ingenuity to modify procedures standards related to financial accounting. Work is accomplished under general direction and completed work is reviewed for results.
Directs or performs the compilation and analysis of financial information and prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
Analyzes and reconciles financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for other managers.
Develops, installs and implements new and revised accounting systems. Creates or modifies system specifications and documentation and coordinates implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures with management and users.
May conduct studies and submit recommendations for improving the organization's accounting operation.
Act as primary finance support to assigned corporate departments. This will include assisting with their monthly financial close and forecasting requirements.
Be responsible for performing the monthly consolidation of the financial statements using a consolidation software program. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated consolidation experience.
Provide fixed asset support to assigned divisions. Preference will be given to candidates with fixed asset accounting experience.
Prepare governmental surveys as needed.
Ancillary Job Functions and Responsibilities:
This position may provide administrative and technical leadership over other Stakeholders in the department. Perform other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications other than the primary assignment.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: ACCOUNTANT SENIOR
Formal Education, Training, Professional Certification and Work Experience:
Bachelor degree in accounting, finance or other appropriate discipline from an accredited four-year college or university and five (5) years related experience and/or training. A combination of education and experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Make telephone and direct personal contact with internal and external personnel and may make formal presentations to small or large groups.

While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk and hear. The Stakeholder frequently is required to move from one place to another and reach with hands and arms. The Stakeholder must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Travel between facilities. Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. NRD: Must be able to ascend and descend stairs.
Work Environment:
Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, noise, temperature and other elements in the shop area, if required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
