Quality Assurance - Test and Inspection
Summary Statement:
Design, plan, coordinate, and manage the quality control program to ensure products are produced in accordance with established customer, company and Federal Aviation Administration quality standards. Provide leadership to institutionalize the processes of Continuous Quality Improvement in accordance with organization goals and objectives. Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
Works within established organizational objectives. Accomplishes results through subordinate supervisors or through experienced exempt and nonexempt staff. Performs typical responsibilities of management requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and coaching. Interprets quality control philosophy to key personnel in organization.
Directs Stakeholders engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
Support inspection activity for product throughout production cycle. Creates and implements inspection criteria and procedures. Establishes and implements quality plans, testing and inspection procedures. Audits testing results to determine if product specifications are met and advises operating units on quality control standards for raw materials and finished products.
Analyzes quality escapes and product defects and reports findings to management and appropriate department. Maintains an effective material review, disposition and corrective action program. Lead product/process investigations and improvement strategies.
Stays abreast of the latest advances in inspection techniques and standards. Insures inspection personnel have the required levels of proficiency and certification in the various inspection disciplines.
Work with vendors to insure quality of all purchased parts for company use.
Work with customers to implement new processes/procedures that focus on eliminating warranty and process quality escapes.
Plays active role on quality management teams within organization.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: &n bsp;CHIEF INSPECTOR
Formal Education, Training, Professional Certification and Work Experience: Bachelor Degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited four-year college or university and seven (7) or more years related experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. The experience must include two (2) years in an Aerospace Maintenance/MFG leadership position.
Categories of Stakeholders Directly Supervised: Manages Inspectors, Leads and Supervisory Stakeholders. Approximately 3-10 stakeholders

Standard Job Requirements: Must be able to arrive at work on time, work on-site, and attend regularly. Must be able to read and write the English language, perform basic mathematical calculations and learn to interpret and comprehend company policies, procedures, safety instructions, and other like documents used in an aerospace manufacturing environment. Compet ent in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel and operate standard office equipment. Make telephone and direct personal contact with internal and external personnel and make formal presentations to small or large groups. Perfor m work of subordinates.
Special Job Requirements: Must have a working knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration regulations and requirements, Coordinated Agency Supplier Evaluation, ISO 9001 and requirements.
Special Training: Safety training applicable to the job and the general work area. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The Stakeholder frequently is required to move from one place to another. The Stakeholder must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Travel between facilities. Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. NRD: Must be able to ascend and descend stairs. Work Environment: Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, noise, temperature and other elements in the shop area, if required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Mental Requirements: Able to work as a team member, highly organized, work well under stress and handle multiple priorities. Must possess interpersonal and communication skills to interact with other people inside and outside the company.
