Ensures the plans and performance of the tooling function within the organization meet or exceed management expectations. Provides leadership to institutionalize the processes of Continuous Improvement in accordance with organization goals and objectives. Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
Accomplishes results through direct reports and staff working within established organizational objectives. Performs typical responsibilities of management requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and coaching. Work is reviewed for adequacy in meeting cost, schedule and quality objectives.
Manages tooling specifications studies and the sketches and drawings that determine the type of tooling required to support production. Oversees work hour requirements estimates for completion of job assignments. Provides technical direction to personnel.
Assigns work to tooling personnel engaged in building and maintaining production tooling. Inspects work in process to ensure cost, schedule and quality standards are met and the tool meets required specifications.
Interprets Company policies to Stakeholders and enforces regulations relating to safety, attendance, conduct, and other plant rules. Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to Stakeholders, and assigns duties. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production or processing schedules.
Recommends measures to improve production or processing methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Provides guidance to teams on development, performance and productivity issues.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew. Monitors and expedites flow of materials within production area.
Receives and answers questions from Stakeholders pertaining to area processes or equipment operation. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists Stakeholders in solving work problems. Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
Maintains time and production or processing records. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate Stakeholders to achieve work goals. Notifies maintenance Stakeholders of equipment malfunctions.
Performs the entire job functions and activities of Stakeholders supervised. Trains Stakeholders in equipment operation and in processing and safety procedures.
Ancillary Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications other than the primary assignment.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: MANAGER TOOLING
Formal Education, Training, Professional Certification and Work Experience: Bachelor Degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited four-year college or university and eight (8) or more years related experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Standard Job Requirements: Must be able to arrive at work on time, work on-site, and attend regularly. Must be able to read and write the English language, perform basic mathematical calculations and learn to interpret and comprehend company policies, procedures, safety instructions, and other like documents used in an aerospace manufacturing environment. Competent in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel and operate standard office equipment. Make telephone and direct personal contact with internal and external personnel and make formal presentations to small or large groups. Perform work of subordinates.
Special Job Requirements:
Special Training: Safety training applicable to the job and the general work area. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The Stakeholder frequently is required to move from one place to another. The Stakeholder must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Travel between facilities. Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. NRD: Must be able to ascend and descend stairs. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Mental Requirements: Able to work as a team member, highly organized, work well under stress and handle multiple priorities. Must possess interpersonal and communication skills to interact with other people inside and outside the company.
