Applies extensive knowledge of principles, theories, concepts and industry practices to perform material requirements planning required to manage the production operations for the manufacture and repair of aircraft and aerospace products. Provides technical expertise to management and may represent the Company to customer, outside business or regulatory personnel in matters relating to material requirements planning. Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
Develops solutions to a variety of complex and unusual problems that require independent judgment and ingenuity to develop/modify processes and procedures related to MPS and MRP Planning for manufacturing and repair.
Work is accomplished under general direction and completed work is reviewed for results. Resolves the most complex questions and problems, referring only matters of policy changes to higher levels.
Prepares reports as required for management. Assists Management in the collection of data necessary to support status reporting and in the development of key metrics. Required to assist in training or instructing other departmental employees as necessary.
Analyzes and configures MRP system to support manufacturing process. Inputs the MPS/MRP planning parameters, necessary to maintain optimum inventory levels in order to reduce inventory investment and maximum turn rate while maintaining excellent material support for production.
Coordinate the master scheduling function for manufacturing ensuring component required dates are managed to support production requirements while sending the appropriate procurement signals to Purchasing. Ensures inventory allocations/planned requirements are maintained to adequately support customer orders, production, and Purchasing. Analyzes and adjusts production schedules, allocations/planned requirements to meet needs.
Establishes forecast and demand planning requirements to support repair assemblies. Analyzes product demand, trends, and forecasts and adjusts inventory plans accordingly. Hold monthly consensus meetings to develop end item forecast to be employed to drive independent forecast and planning bills for components. Maintain order modifiers in MRP system in accordance with departmental policies.
Analyzes suggested order signals for dependent/independent requirements produced by MRP using reasonableness checks established by Department Policies/Procedures.
Ancillary Job Functions and Responsibilities:
This position may provide administrative and technical leadership over other Stakeholders in the department. Perform other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications other than the primary assignment.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: MRP CONTROLLER SENIOR
Formal Education, Training, Professional Certification and Work Experience: Bachelor level degree in a technical or business related major from four-year College or university and five (5) or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. In addition, five or more years of planning experience in manufacturing & repair with an emphasis in master production scheduling (MPS) in a manufacturing environment. Experience in demand planning and forecasting in a repair environment preferred. Experience utilizing and configuring MRP systems and their use in driving master production schedules and associated component material requirements a must. Experience utilizing Fourth Shift, SAP-R/3 and SAP-APO a plus. APICS certification preferred.

Must have PC-based planning and inventory systems experience and related skills in planning.
Requires understanding and application of continuous improvement and operational excellence methods (i.e., performance measures and score-carding, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing/Supply Chain). Strong orientation towards customer service and consumer satisfaction.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in teams, across functional lines, and with internal and external customers. Requires solid math and analytical skills.
Understanding and application of time-based manufacturing and lean supply chain concepts, and manufacturing processes
Special Training: Safety training applicable to the job and the general work area. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk and hear. The Stakeholder frequently is required to move from one place to another and reach with hands and arms. The Stakeholder must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Travel between facilities. Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. NRD only: Must be able to ascend and descend stairs. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job the Stakeholder is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Mental Requirements: Able to work as a team member, highly organized, work well under stress and handle multiple priorities. Must possess interpersonal and communication skills to interact with other people inside and outside the company.
