Summary Statement:

Directs and coordinates activities of a production department to manufacture, repair or rebuild aircraft structural component parts, systems. Establishes operating policies and procedures and interprets, executes and recommends modifications to organizational policies. Develops and provides leadership to institutionalize the processes of Continuous Quality Improvement in accordance with organization goals and objectives.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:

Works within established organizational objectives. Accomplishes results through subordinate supervisors or through experienced exempt and nonexempt staff. Performs typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and coaching. Work is reviewed for adequacy in meeting cost, schedule and quality objectives.

Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations. Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.

Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.

Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays. Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.

Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.

Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Stakeholders; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Stakeholders; addressing complaints and grievances, resolving problems.

Ancillary Functions and Responsibilities:

Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications other than the primary assignment.



JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
MANAGER PRODUCTION

Formal Education, Training, Professional Certification and Work Experience:
Experience may be substituted for the formal education and training requirements in this section at the discretion of management. A combination of education and training equivalent to a Bachelor level degree, or equivalent in the appropriate discipline and eight (8) or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Number of Stakeholders Directly Supervised:
Manages from 30 to 100 Production and Maintenance, Leads and Supervisory Stakeholders.

Communication and Special Skills:
Communicate effectively using electronic media and in written and verbal forms.
Make telephone and direct personal contact with internal and external personnel and make formal presentations to small or large groups.
Competent in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

Special Training and Behavioral Competencies:
The following training requirements and competencies must be met before acceding to this job.
Safety training applicable to the work area and job performed.
Complete the required NORDAM University training for Managers, Directors, General Managers and Executives.
Comply with The NORDAM Group Leadership Competencies for Managers, Directors, General Managers or Executives as applicable.
Ability and willingness to assist and transfer technical knowledge to less experienced Stakeholders.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Stakeholder to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is regularly required to sit and talk and hear. The Stakeholder frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The Stakeholder is occasionally required to walk. The Stakeholder must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to travel between facilities and operate standard office equipment. Work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week as required. Must be able to ascend and descend stairs.

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Stakeholder encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The Stakeholder is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Work in stressful situations and handle multiple priorities. Demonstrate interpersonal, organizational and communication skills to interact effectively with other people.
