Applies extensive knowledge of principles, theories, concepts and industry practices to, coordinate and expedite the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between sections or departments. Supports Sales by assisting in securing the proper documentation for customer review and acceptance. Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
Develops solutions to a variety of complex and unusual problems that require independent judgment and ingenuity to modify procedures standards related to spare parts referring to policies and procedures for guidance. Work is accomplished under general direction and completed work is reviewed for results.
Responsible for technical research of part numbers, interchangeability, functional differences, sub-components, service bulletins and airworthiness directives to include manual as well as computerized research for Boeing, Airbus and other manufactures.
Coordinates NORDAM owned and consignment assets through NRD, NEL and NSPL product centers for evaluation, quoting and repair/overhauls. Administers POs to the production areas based on customer or program requirements. Expedites the flow of materials, parts and assemblies between sections or departments.
Receives and processes sales calls on the AOG desk, addresses customer service issues and shipping information. Supports NSPD sales by assisting in securing the proper documentation for customer review and acceptance.
Communicates and coordinates quotes and follows through on documentation for exchange, outright sale, and lease transactions. Included in this process is the receiving of complete documentation and trace requirements as well as coordinating maintenance of ship set requirements by aircraft type for customer programs.
Reviews parts being received from exchanges or purchases to verify compliance and begin the process of repair and inventory. Views part for NSPD transactions in the receiving area of the NRD or may travel onsite to vendor location. Verifies all trace documentation of NSPD purchases and core returns at the time the units arrive. Coordinates production flaws on NSPD units, arranges and completes paperwork.
Researches and reviews technical documents, such as but not limited to, the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) overhaul manuals and must be able to communicate findings clearly to NSPD and their customers.
Creates and maintains reference books for NSPD components and NORDAM Repair Divisions capabilities. Compiles and maintains manual or computerized records such as material, inventory, in process production reports, and status and location of materials.
Reviews production schedules and related information to determine material requirements to identify overdue materials and to track material and confers with product center management to prioritize delivery and/or completion dates. Examines material delivered to production departments to verify conformance to specifications.
Supports NSPD sales by assisting in responding to Request for Quotes with complete information and proposals. They will also carry the afterhours AOG phone on a rotational basis.
Ancillary Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Special projects and duties as defined by NSPD management. This position may provide administrative and technical leadership over other Stakeholders in the department. Perform other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications other than the primary assignment.
Formal Education, Training, Professional Certification and Work Experience: Aircraft and Power plant (A&P) license is preferred or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and three (5) years Aircraft maintenance related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Stakeholder Behavioral Standards: All Stakeholders: Integrity, Teamwork, Communications, Customer Focus, Initiative and willingness to assist and transfer technical knowledge to less experienced Stakeholders. Level of Supervision Required: Works under general direction. Receives guidance as to results expected and to resolve complex problems. Exercises latitude in determining activities and approaches within moderate to wide parameters.
Standard Job Requirements: Must be able to arrive at work on time, work on-site, and attend regularly. Must be able to read and write the English language, perform basic mathematical calculations and learn to interpret and comprehend company policies, procedures, safety instructions, and other like documents used in an aerospace manufacturing environment. Competent in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel and operate standard office equipment. Make telephone and direct personal contact with internal and external personnel and make formal presentations to small or large groups. May perform work of lesser skilled employees.
Special Job Requirements: Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Regulations, Structural Repair Manual (SRM) and overhaul manuals. Read and interpret aircraft blueprints.
Special Training: Safety training applicable to the job and the general work area. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk and hear. The Stakeholder frequently is required to move from one place to another and reach with hands and arms. The Stakeholder must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Travel between facilities. Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. NRD: Must be able to ascend and descend stairs. Work Environment: Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, noise, temperature and other elements in the shop area. Mental Requirements: Able to work as a team member, highly organized, work well under stress and handle multiple priorities. Must possess interpersonal and communication skills to interact with other people inside and outside the company.
