Summary Statement: Applies thorough understanding of administrative concepts, practices and procedures to execute the plan or sequence of operations and prepare material, tooling, and fabrication and assembly instructions for manufacturing/repair of parts, components, subsystems and systems for operational aircraft. Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities: Plans and accomplishes a complete range of assignments and tasks that are varied and moderately complex to complex in such functional areas
Solves problems of limited to moderate scope and complexity in the planning execution process following established policies and procedures for guidance.
Prepares and distributes shortage reports for assigned area of responsibility. Shortages to be provided to Purchasing for expediting and to Production Planning for critical path analysis in schedule determination. Prepare expediting request for warehouse as needed to move critical items expeditiously to the work cell.
Action Engineering Change Requests (ECR) on Order Dependent Bill of Materials. Modify demand allocations for specific jobs as required. Work with Engineering as needs to modify the standard bill of material arise.
Coordinate with production supervision to release planning, labor and materials into work. Perform data maintenance and maintain notes/dates in the system regarding stage and location of repair units. Liaise with production planning to notify when schedule adjustments are required based on manufacturing/repair inputs.
Review evaluator imports of materials for accuracy to look for duplications and or missing materials. Work closely with evaluators to consume inventory and demand the appropriate materials. Work closely with evaluators to highlight low use high value demands, to validate their need. Look for opportunities to consume existing stock (slow moving).
Prepares purchase requisitions for outside process material required within the work cell. Ensures all relevant technical data is included in these requests.
Audit and maintain shelf life items within responsible work cell and maintain lot traceability on these items.
Make recommendations for point of use inventory, and removal of point of use material if demand is no longer sufficient.
Ancillary Job Functions and Responsibilities: Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications other than the primary assignment.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: SHOP FLOOR CONTROL SPECIALIST Formal Education, Training and Work Experience: High school or GED plus and four (4) or more years experience in aerospace MRO or related environment or equivalent combination of education and experience. . Stakeholder Behavioral Standards: All Stakeholders: Integrity, Teamwork, Communications, Customer Focus, Initiative and willingness to assist and transfer technical knowledge to less experienced Stakeholders. Level of Supervision Required: Works under general supervision. Work is reviewed for completion to quality standards and schedule requirements. May adapt techniques and tools to meet special needs with approval from management.
Standard Job Requirements: Must be able to arrive at work on time, work on-site, and attend regularly. Must be able to read and write the English language, perform basic mathematical calculations and learn to interpret and comprehend company policies, procedures, safety instructions, and other like documents used in an aerospace manufacturing environment. Competent in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel and operate standard office equipment. Make telephone and direct personal contact with internal and external personnel and make formal presentations to small or large groups. May perform work of lesser skilled employees.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Travel between facilities. Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. NRD: Must be able to ascend and descend stairs. Work Environment: Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, noise, temperature and other elements in the shop area, if required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Mental Requirements: Work in stressful situations and handle multiple priorities. Demonstrate interpersonal, organizational and communication skills to interact effectively with other people both inside and outside the company.
