Summary Statement:

Directs, coordinates and/or supervises all disciplines within the given area of responsibility in processing materials or manufacturing products to achieve the desired level of costs, quality and schedule. Develops and provides leadership to institutionalize the processes of Continuous Quality Improvement in accordance with organization goals and objectives.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:

Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.

Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products. Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.

Ensures that productivity goals are achieved and maintained. Ensures that quality standards are maintained and continually improved upon. Provides guidance to teams on development, performance and productivity issues.

Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays. Ensures that customer schedules and service are foremost in the minds of direct reports.

Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization. Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards. Analyzes and selects the proper tools and supplies to be requisitioned.

Supervises departmental personnel to achieve the desired level of costs, quality and schedule. Coordinates with direct reports and support departments to implement methods and producibility improvements.

Develops the human resources within responsibility area to achieve departmental goals. Performs Stakeholder evaluations. Implements the necessary manpower assignments to produce a quality product on time and within budget. Ensures that manpower and budget is managed commensurate with the business profile.

Ancillary Functions and Responsibilities:

Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications other than the primary assignment.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS: SUPERVISOR PRODUCTION


Formal Education, Training, Licenses and Work Experience:
Experience may be substituted for the formal education and training requirements in this section at the discretion of management. High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and training in supervisory and management skills equivalent to an Associate level degree and seven (7) or more years experience, two (2) of which must be in a leadership position. Competent in the processes and procedures for the area over which supervision is exercised.

Number of Stakeholders Managed:
Supervises from 10 to 30 Stakeholders.

Special Job Requirements, Skills, Tools and Equipment:
Demonstrate competency in applying the following in performing normal job duties.
Perform work of subordinates.
The following statement is only applicable if the job function will also be performed under the divisions repair station certificate. Have either at least 18 months of practical experience in the procedures, practices, inspection methods, materials, tools, machine tools, and equipment generally used in the maintenance duties of the specific job for which the person is to be employed and certified; or completed formal training that is acceptable to the Administrator and is specifically designed to qualify the applicant for the job on which the applicant is to be employed.

Special Training and Behavioral Competencies:
The following training requirements and competencies must be met before acceding to this job.
Safety training applicable to the job and the general work area.
Complete the required NORDAM University training for Leads and Supervisors.
Comply with The NORDAM Group Leadership Competencies for Leads and Supervisors.
Ability and willingness to assist and transfer technical knowledge to less experienced Stakeholders.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Stakeholder to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk and hear. The Stakeholder frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The Stakeholder is occasionally required to sit. The Stakeholder must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. (Must be able to ascend and descend stairs - Standard to all PM jobs). Work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week as required. Plus specific requirements of the job.

While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Work in stressful situations and handle multiple priorities. Demonstrate interpersonal, organizational and communication skills to interact effectively with other people, inside the Company.
