The following position is contingent upon contract award. COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK ENGINEER
This person provides network expertise to our customers by delivering complex technology-based mission services, specializing in innovative engineering and management solutions for customers who require day-to-day precision and a detailed knowledge of their mission. This position will provide skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues and also will be expected to design IT solutions for our customers. A thorough understanding of LAN/WAN integration, TCP/IP, switching and routing is essential. The Communications Network Engineer will also be expected to provide experience in deploying desktops, servers, cabling, switches, bridges and routers. Additionally, this person may be required to perform some duties normally associated with the System Engineer and Computer Technician positions.
Responsibilities:
Analyze, design, test, and evaluate network systems, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), Internet/ intranet services, load balancers and other data communications systems Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning Research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation including detailed Visio diagrams Responsible for ongoing support of configuration and layout of Enterprise infrastructure Support the Enterprise recommendations and best practices, as applicable, for the following areas: Business Continuity; High Availability Assist Network Architect in documenting designs and policies associated with networks Work closely with the Security Engineer to configure, support, and maintains routers, switches, network appliances, and other communications devices Implementation of test plans, migration plans, and delivery plans Provide network and application troubleshooting support Provide advanced support and maintenance for enterprise wide Network and the Network Operations Center (NOC) Research and evaluate and implement innovative solutions and alternatives Provide expertise in creating and troubleshooting WAN connectivity through routers, and switches Install and maintain LAN/WAN/MAN hardware and software technologies Configure and install routers and switches in accordance with customer standards

Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels of the organization required Strong organizational skills required
Education and work experience:
Bachelors degree or equivalent in a related engineering or technology discipline required 9 years demonstrated experience in general IT technologies required 8+ years of extensive LAN/WAN networking and troubleshooting in large, distributed corporate environment with in-depth knowledge of OSPF, BGP, VRF, and MPLS required 5+ years demonstrated strong technical engineering and support experience with enterprise monitoring tools required Experience designing and administering WAN infrastructures required Professional Certifications (desired): CCNA, CCNP
Clearance Required: Ability to obtain and maintain US Customs and Border Protection Clearance is a MUST. Location: This position is available in the Washington D.C. area.
