The following position is contingent upon contract award. COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK MANAGER
This person provides first level supervision for multiple teams who provide network expertise to our company and its customers. This position will provide skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues and also will be expected to design IT solutions for our customers. A thorough understanding of LAN/WAN integration, TCP/IP, switching and routing is essential.
Responsibilities:
Provide oversight and Management of the Network Operations Center (NOC) Manages customer/client relationships as well as supervision to highly technical staff supporting the NOC Works with customer to make decisions of critical consequence impacting administration and management of major, broad organizational services and long range goals First level supervisory responsibility for managing several project teams Manages advanced support and maintenance for enterprise wide Network As required, works with customer to facilitate research and evaluate innovative solutions Analyze business needs and designs, installs and supports network solutions on one or multiple platforms in a LAN, WAN, MAN or Wireless architecture Provides management expertise and coordinates creation and troubleshooting of WAN connectivity through routers, and switches Manages network security Manages the creation and maintenance of comprehensive network documentation including detailed Visio diagrams required by the customer Responsible for management of ongoing support of configuration and layout of Enterprise infrastructure Ensures Enterprise best practices, as applicable, for the following areas: Business Continuity; High Availability
Knowledge and skills:
Specialized progressive directly related subject matter expertise in the principles and techniques of systems design, programming, and project management required Strong internal and external customer service focus required Intuitive problem solving and troubleshooting skills required Working knowledge of LAN/WAN/MAN hardware and software systems required Expertise with varied products such as Cisco, Nortel, and various firewall solutions required Proven management and organizational skills required
Education and work experience:
Bachelors degree required 10+ years of progressive, related experience that includes the design, development and implementation of business computer systems and programs required 4+ years supervisory experience required Advance level of technical expertise in providing campus type network system design required Experience managing a NOC and Technicians and Communications/Network Engineers that support the NOC required CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) desired MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) desired Experience with DHS preferred Clearance Required: Ability to obtain and maintain US Customs and Border Protection Clearance and up to a Top Secret is a MUST.
