QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER The Quality Assurance Engineer ensures shall ensure high quality is maintained for Windows based data analysis systems. The role relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals using a wide degree of creativity. The person will work closely with the development team and leadership to establish and meet those plans.
Our team provides data discovery, workflow and management solutions to internal and external customers. Our tools ingest data from a wide variety of sources (database, spreadsheet, flat file) to be quickly profiled and for data element semantic types to be discovered. In addition, they provide data workflow management and quality assessment.
Responsibilities:
Thorough manual and automated testing of web UI and web service based software, including: test plan development, test execution, documenting issues in a fashion that facilitates re-creation Participates in design efforts as a part of the design team to ensure high quality is delivered to end users Works on, and may lead, teams to implement corrective and preventive actions, including root cause analysis of problems, planning of activities to fix problems, creating procedures to implement changes to the system Recreating issues reported by customers and documenting them appropriately Load testing to the point of failure Performs a variety of complicated tasks
Knowledge and skills:
Familiar with automated testing and typical failure scenarios Familiar with risk based testing Positive attitude and a team player with exceptionally good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with highly specialized research and development engineers and other staff Excellent verbal and written communication skills A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
Education and work experience:
A bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical specialty At least 4-6 years of experience testing web or web service based applications Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Location: This position will be based out of our Springfield, Ohio worksite.
