Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for understanding property accounting policies and procedures and providing guidance on property-related issues within the Williams Exploration & Production (E&P) segment.  The position will ensure that property-related accounts are in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles with an emphasis in accounting for leasehold transactions. 

Responsibilities include:

Interfacing with the Land Department and E&P Asset Teams, especially our Willston Basin and Appalachia Basin teams, to understand leasehold transactions and leasehold development activities to ensure timely transaction processing and recognition of related expense.

Calculating leasehold amortization expense and coordinating reconciliation of leasehold accounts with land records and the General Ledger.

Accumulating information necessary to complete SEC filings and assisting with quarterly reviews and the year-end audit.

Understanding the development, implementation and execution of property controls and assisting with the review of multiple account reconciliations.

Assisting with the monthly closing process, including the review and analysis of DD&A, ARO accretion expense, capitalized interest, and other property related charges.

Responding to ad-hoc requests and assisting with special projects as needed.

Working closely with our outsourced provider to journalize and report on PP&E balances and related activity.


Qualifications:
- 5-7  years experience in accounting, preferably in Energy industry.  Prefer property accounting or land records experience.

- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance

- Must possess excellent analytical abilities

- Certified Public Accountant a plus

- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects and properly prioritize such tasks in order to efficiently complete assignments.

- Self-starter with the ability to meet defined goals.

- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to interface with all levels of personnel, including the ability to influence and lead various property related initiatives

- Strong and effective oral and written communication skills.

- Knowledge of various systems including Oracle and MS Office applications.  Powerplant experience a plus


Education Level: Bachelor's Level Degree

Relocation Information: Williams Corporation will not pay relocation costs for this position.

Travel Percentage: Less than 25 %

Fair Labor Standards Act: FLSA exempt no overtime pay is due.
