Responsibilities:
Serve as primary point of contact for E&P Acquisition & Divestiture team for coordination of all technical and operational accounting issues and concerns.

Research and recommend solutions on technical accounting, reporting issues and operational accounting issues and determine impact to Williams E&P.  Involves considering new, unique and complex transactions and structures in the Exploration & Production business.

Monitor emerging accounting and reporting standards from the FASB, EITF, SEC and AICPA, determine the impact of emerging standards to Williams and communicate internally and externally Williams E&P position on emerging standards. 

Implement new accounting and reporting standards and manage the implementation process.  Coordinate the implementation of International Financial Reporting Standards.

Consult with Corporate Accounting Research Department customers to identify accounting issues, determine issue resolution support needs, design and implement accounting strategies to meet business objectives and establish effective two-way communication processes.

Manage multiple financial projects working with various levels of financial and operating personnel.

Makes recommendations based on technical and operational expertise.

Interact with external auditors in the accounting issue resolution process.

Role frequently interacts with E&P commercial customer groups in addition to other F&A groups both in Williams E&P and other business units.


Qualifications:
-  Bachelors degree with major in Accounting and CPA is required.
- 10 years of related experience with a preference for energy industry experience  as well as public accounting experience.   
- Project management experience required
- Strong presentation skills
- FAS-133 and Hedge Accounting experience is preferred, but not necessary.
- Ability to handle diverse range of complex assignments requiring the use of experience, innovation, judgment and independent decision making. 
- Proven experience researching technical accounting matters and ability to manage implementation of new accounting standards. 
- Strong written and verbal skills and ability to effectively communicate with customers. 
- Knowledge of PC applications and information search applications. 
-SEC reporting experience is preferred but not mandatory
-Knowledge of Financial Reporting and general ledger maintenance preferred.


Education Level: Bachelor's Level Degree

Relocation Information: Williams Corporation will pay relocation costs for this position.

Travel Percentage: Less than 25 %

Fair Labor Standards Act: FLSA exempt no overtime pay is due.
