Responsibilities: The Olefins Marketing Representative, Propylene, is responsible for all commercial activity for Williams Olefins propylene and heavier olefins production. Williams Olefins produces polymer grade propylene (PGP) at three locations: the ethylene cracker at Geismar, Louisiana, the propylene splitter at the LDH Olefins plant at Geismar, Louisiana, and the off-gas plant in Redwater, Alberta. Heavier Olefins includes a crude butadiene product and a pyrolysis gasoline (DAC) product, both produced at the Geismar ethylene cracker and sold by barge. This role is the direct customer interface for all propylene and heavier olefins transactions and has responsibility for the monthly sales cycle of contract nominations, contract price negotiations and spot sales activities. The sales responsibility for this role can be up to $400 MM in sales revenue per year.
Key Responsibilities include:
Propylene and Heavier Olefins Sales: Manage the contract sales for all propylene and heavier olefins production by managing contract price negotiations and physical deliveries, and manage spot sales to balance based upon our monthly inventory targets. Manage exchange balances to generate the best possible netback for sales and assure product delivery.
Logistics: This role is actively involved with the pipeline, barge, railcar and truck schedulers to ensure deliveries are fulfilled in the most economical route possible. Participate in freight delivery price negotiations with railroads, demurrage cost negotiations and the commercial development of pipeline exchange agreements. Constantly evaluating new logistical opportunities to increase Williams connectivity to markets and decrease delivery costs.
Negotiations: Generate new potential contract leads and engage in new contract negotiations. Administer the existing contract portfolios to maximum value for Williams.
New Project Development: Participate in new project planning development to grow the propylene and heavy products business in US and Canada including new expansion projects.
Market Analysis: Daily propylene market evaluations to understand commodity relationships and spot price changes. Access and/or develop forward market information to facilitate forecasting.
Office Support: Ensure compliance with Midstream Commodity Transaction Policy, Credit Limits and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) audits. Coordinate month-end close process between accounting and schedulers to include accurate sales price calculations so that the Close deadline is met each month without post-close corrections.
Customer Relationships: Maintain strong customer relationships, participate in industry events, and continually interact with industry participates to find new business opportunities.
Qualifications: BS Business or Marketing
Minimum of 2-4 years marketing related experience (direct sales experience not required but desirable), may include supply & distribution, finance/accounting, operations or other related fields.
Olefins industry experience desired, but not required.
Education Level: Bachelor's Level Degree
Relocation Information: Williams Corporation will not pay relocation costs for this position.
Travel Percentage: 26 - 50 %
