Responsibilities: The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for developing and implementing procedures and processes to maintain existing databases and software applications, preparing calculations and reports to support environmental permitting & compliance with regulatory requirements specific to the companys Oil & Gas production in Colorado, Wyoming and North Dakota. This position will report to the Environmental Manager and work closely with EHS staff, field operations and consultants/contractors. The following primary responsibilities are assigned to this position:
Manage and/or participate in the testing and implementation of databases and software applications that incorporate asset inventory, requirement and task identification, and the compilation, analysis and reporting of data for permitting, compliance assurance and performance analysis
Develop and automate procedures and processes to integrate Air Quality permitting & compliance requirements and actual operating data to demonstrate compliance with permit limits and rules and regulations.
Responsible for the preparation on a monthly basis of the 12-month rolling averages as required for all regulated facilities to demonstrate compliance with permit limits and requirements
Responsible for managing APEN updates and renewals.
Administer the continued implementation of the company Environmental Management Information System (EMIS) and ensure processes are in place for continued maintenance and updates of the system.
Analyze process work flow, data integration and reporting needs to satisfy regulatory requirements and develop guidance and decision trees to implement these processes
Manage consultants and contractors to support database integration, requirement identification, and data migration and population of applications
Support the EHS Department in responding to environmental related queries from federal agencies and answer environmental related surveys to support RMPs and other planning functions.
Provide hands-on technical system support/training for existing clients and EMIS support and updates
Ensure applications satisfy internal company IT standards/policies/procedures
Qualifications: At least 5 years of experience in developing and implementing environmental compliance-related databases and software applications. A bachelor's degree in computer application, science or engineering is essential. Previous experience with the oil and gas industry is a plus. The qualified candidate will be a self-starter, have excellent organization and communication skills with demonstrated willingness and desire to work technical issues to resolution. The ideal candidate will have experience/technical skills and professional interests in some or all of the following areas:
Basic understanding of natural gas industry involving drilling, completion and production. Familiarity with major federal and state environmental regulations EMIS and/or other software requirements analysis and system design Configuration/deployment of EMIS and/or general commercial software applications Knowledge of IT project management processes and/or software lifecycles Basic knowledge of software programming and scripting Data analysis/cleansing/migration Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) application development/deployment Database administration and maintenance (e.g. MS SQL Server, Oracle) Custom report development using 3rd party reporting tools (e.g. Crystal Reports, Brio Query) Competency in technical writing and development of training programs
This position requires a motivated, hard-working team player with the ability to multitask, manage shifting priorities, and to follow through on projects with minimal supervision. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential. Occasional travel to field offices is necessary. Possession of a valid Colorado drivers license with no serious violations is mandatory.
